For much of their life, Lex believed mental health was something to hide. Growing up in a conservative Hispanic household while existing outside of gender norms, they rarely saw conversations about mental health or identity met with understanding. Choosing therapy became the beginning of a different story, one rooted in healing, self-advocacy, and community. After earning a B.A. in Gender and Sexuality Studies from the University of California, Riverside, Lex dedicated their career to supporting transitional age youth and advancing mental health advocacy across California. They are a Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist whose work is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and the belief that healing happens in community. Today, as a Training Instructor, Lex is eager to help others discover that growth begins when people feel seen, heard, and supported.
When they're not working, Lex enjoys creating art, discovering new coffee shops, and sharing space with their chosen family.
